Nokia N95 8GB Heading and Speed Not shown

I have a N95 8GB and use bbTracker which works very well but I never get a speed reading and the heading is displayed as ???°??. I originally installed version 0.5.1 as the link I found was outadted but then I found the updates page and have installed 0.5.3, 0.5.3.1 would not install. I have subsiquently updated the firmware of my N95 to 31.0.015 but still no speed or heading is ever displayed.
